DBO is a light and creative design studio located in Nancy, France.

Designed as a creative research space whose main medium is light,

the project of the studio is to develop and realize lighting installations and more broadly lighting scenographies.

Our fields of intervention are light creation and scenography for show and event, architectural lighting, museum lighting, space design, and video creation.

We operate throughout France and internationally.

We also offer our consulting services and lighting studies for individuals, or any structure, wishing to entrust professionals, independent and creative to bring a look and an eye to the quality of light.

Videolighting (video as a source of light ) is at the heart of many of our projects.

The studio designs its projects of ephemeral or permanent lighting installations and events based on research, light experimentation, and the design of luminous objects, mixing artificial light and natural light.

We manage the digital tools in order to develop technical solutions DBO (Done By Ourselves) to propose elaborate solutions in a concern of integration low-cost.

The activity is organized around an open-space laboratory and coworking laboratory space, conducive to the development of curiosity and creativity.

The studio DBO was founded by Olivier Irthum visual artist and scenographer after 25 years of experience in live performance. DBO LightArtWorkshop realizes different projects of lighting design, for show, museography, architecture and monuments the studio conceives whole scenographies from the sketch to the realization. We can work on any type of project with a whole network of collaborators.

Olivier Irthum is a member of the Union of Light Creators (UCL).

Multidisciplinarity leads us to intervene in various fields, for all types of clients with different levels of involvement depending on the projects and requests.

Olivier Irthum

Lighting Designer, Scenographer and Visual Artist,

Trained at the Nancy School of Architecture and then at the University Theater in Nancy, Olivier Irthum completed his training with experience, followed by training in architectural lighting at CPFTS Paris.

For fifteen years, he held the position of Technical Director of the MEEC Mousson d'été (structure dedicated to contemporary dramatic writing), while creating lighting and scenography for various theater and dance companies.

He has also realized the lighting design of several events and concerts.

Since 2003, he has devoted his work to the search for a light based on the use of video medium and video sources used as sources of lighting.

This course is the same with the design of lighting scenography in a multidisciplinary approach at the crossroads of live performance and visual and digital arts. He is developing skills in scenography, lighting, museographic and architectural lighting, video-mapping and lighting installation, which he brings together in the agency DBO LightArtWorkshop organized as a real light art workshop focusing on technical research and development. in the service of projects and artistic productions.
